Hangzhou Steel posts increased first quarter outputs

SteelOrbis - In the first quarter of 2010, Zhejiang-based Chinese steelmaker Hangzhou Steel produced 718,709 mt of pig iron, up 10.08 percent, 947,582 mt of crude steel, up 10.35 percent, and 963,323 mt of finished steel, up 24.14 percent, and 127,079 mt of coke, up 11.53 percent, all comparisons being on year-on-year basis.

During the period in question, Hangzhou Steel produced 55,459 mt of value-added products such as spring steel

 and free cutting steel, up 17,333 mt compared with the same period of the previous year.

Meanwhile, on March 21, Hangzhou Steel's three blast furnaces produced a 
total of 8,522 mt of steel, constituting the high daily output since May 13, 2008.
