KARACHI: Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) contains around 94 percent iron, ensures environment friendly process and delivers consistent quality compared to the conventional steel making process in Pakistan, using DRI gives a very good control over composition of various types of steel, and evidently DRI is steel’s most versatile metallic. These views were expressed by M Ashraf, Chairman Pakistan Steel Melters Association after witnessing successful use of DRI at 3 different melt shops across Pakistan. staff report.
